Unique, ultra-impassable boat for hard-to-reach places
Sometimes, to successfully get an animal, you need to get into the wildest, unexplored corners. One of the best ways, of course, is by water. But not all boats can successfully overcome water obstacles.
Experts of the Russian Amphibious design Bureau told about their development-a unique boat RIB JET 4500 MASTER.

Super-passable boat. What is its advantage?
Our company has developed a RIB boat for a water jet engine with inflatable sides. Different manufacturers offer PVC boats with an inflatable bottom and sides. But we saw significant shortcomings in their concept:
The inflatable bottom requires pumping and constant monitoring due to changes in temperature during the day and differences in water and ambient temperatures. It turns out that you pumped up the bottom on the shore, lowered the boat into the water, the air temperature in the bottom fell, the pressure decreased, you have to pump up the bottom.
We went for a ride, pulled the boat to the shore, and then, in order not to damage the bottom with increasing pressure, it is necessary to bleed the air.
The tunnel is not hard. It is very important that the tunnel under the water cannon retains its shape. If the shape of the tunnel will be deformed (and for a boat with an inflatable bottom this is inevitable), the water cannon will not work correctly, respectively, the boat will lose speed and handling.
It is problematic for a person to stand steadily on an inflatable bottom.
The bottom must be additionally glued with polyurethane for protection.
From the above, it turns out that, after buying a boat, it is necessary to invest additional money to protect the bottom, often bring the transom to mind, so that the water meter works correctly.
Ship that does not require modifications
Our team decided to create a boat that a person will buy, put the motor, and will not think about additional expenses, but will simply operate and enjoy the rest.
It was decided to create a fiberglass bottom. Which already makes the bottom more protected compared to the inflatable one. And most importantly, you can design the geometry of the tunnel for proper operation of the water cannon, because it will be rigid, will not change shape during operation. However, fiberglass is not a panacea, because, passing over stones, firewood, the bottom will wear out and become unusable. As a bottom protection, using polycarbonate would be an interesting solution, since it has a high impact strength. But the team had a problem, we didn’t have the technology to connect fiberglass and polycarbonate. After carrying out a number of experimental works, we were able to achieve the desired adhesion. Now we are patenting this technology, because the result was impressive. For additional protection, the lower part of the balloon to the privalnik was covered with polyurethane.
An important feature in the design of our RIB is that the intake recedes from the bottom by 3-4 cm, so the probability of its damage is reduced many times.

In this video, we conquer the Sandy river in the Altai territory, demonstrating how passable our new development is. Our invention is able to overcome the smallest places in rivers where water barely flows. It’s easy to jump on boulders, ride on pebbles at full speed and not be afraid of consequences on the RIB JET 4500 MASTER!
Killed, but failed to kill!
Then began the most interesting, test, among themselves said “we are going to kill the boat.” We went to the Altai territory, the Republic of Altai, went around the Novosibirsk region, looking for small rivers, rocky, impassable areas.
Let’s look at the bottom and features of its protection:
This boat was waiting for tests in the Altai territory on the river Talmenka, where it was to meet not only with small scythes and stones, but also with snags. There is a lot of firewood on the river, there are even flooded metal structures. RIB passed the test perfectly.
Look at the state of protection after “flying” on the shore, racing on the rocks, hitting the firewood.
Solid bottom of the new boat
The tunnel cavity is covered with gelcoat (black coating), there is no polycarbonate. It has minor damage, which the user can easily restore at the end of the season on their own or ask for help from our specialists.
As for polycarbonate (thickness 3 mm), Yes, it shows scratches, but their depth is minimal. An interesting fact: after the polycarbonate was scratched after testing, the boat’s speed characteristics did not change at all, moreover, it seems that due to the scratches, the wettability of the bottom surface decreased, and consequently, the speed characteristics improved due to the accelerated exit to the skimmer.
The bottom is made of polycarbonate 3 mm.
Now any shallow water on the shoulder!
In the following photos and videos, we want to show what shallow water our RIB overcomes. Pay attention to the border on the first photo (the depth in this section is 4 cm). You can say that the boat is on the sand.

In conclusion, we managed to create a unique RIB boat that is easy to operate. The absence of closed cavities makes it easy to wash. It has an “armored” bottom, cylinders protected to the privalnik by polyurethane. Tunnel configured for a water jet engine. It remains to put the motor and enjoy.
